In this post we are going to learn how to Update the Global Web Server plug-in configuration file. The Web server plug-in configuration file settings determine whether an application server or the Web server handles user requests.
A global Web server plug-in configuration file plugin-cfg.xml must be regenerated whenever:
1. One will change the configuration settings for an application server, cluster, Web container transport, or virtual host alias that is contained in the cell.
2. One will add a new application server, cluster, Web container transport, or virtual host alias to the cell.
The generated plugin-cfg.xml file is placed in the %was_profile_home%/config/cells directory. If your Web server is located on a remote machine, you must manually move this file to that machine.
Prerequisite :
1. One should have already created the WebSphere Application Server v6.1 @localhost in IBM RAD 7.5
2. Server Should be in Started Mode.
3. EAR Should be Installed and Started already.
To Update the Global Web Server plug-in Configuration for WebSphere Applicatio Server in IBM RAD Admin Console we have to open the Admin Console.
Step1: To Update the Global Web Server plug-in Configuration for WebSphere Application Server in IBM RAD Admin Console ,
Go to Environment->Update the Global Web Server plug-in Configuration as shown in the screen shot below:
-> Click OK
Step2: You will get a Message “The Web server plug configuration was updated successfully” and it will Update plugin-cfg.xml file for you. And Refresh the Environment.
One can Update the Global Web Server plug-in Configuration for WebSphere Application Server in IBM RAD Admin Console with the help of same steps in all the other versions of IBM RAD i.e. RAD 6.0,RAD 7.0 and RAD 8.0.
